Brenda became interested  in Fiber Design at the age of 11. Her first project was a total ensemble, dress, coat, shoes, gloves and hat. Although she did not know how to sew nor did she own a sewing machine, she did not let that stop her. President of her high school sewing club, she was awarded the Bank of America Scholarship. After earning her degree in Textile Design from California State University, Northridge she owned and operated a handwoven clothing business. Brenda later began work in the entertainment industry as a costume designer for television, music videos, commercials and film. Brenda’s credits include Gilmore Girls and Bunheads.
